How To Measure Foot Length

  • Place a piece of paper on the floor and against a wall.
  • Wearing your regular socks, place your foot on the piece of paper with your heel against a wall. Stand with your heel against the wall.
  • With a thin pen or pencil pointed straight down, mark the tip of the big toe. It might help to have a friend or partner assist you.
  • On a straight line, use a ruler to measure the longest point from the heel (start of the paper) to your longest toe.
  • Apply the longer of the two measurements to our size chart to find the right correlating size for the recorded foot length. If the measurement is between sizes, we recommend sizing up.
How to measure foot size

Selecting a size

Our footwear is handmade in Italy and labelled applying European sizing.

If in doubt, please contact our Customer Care team (contact@176marches.com), who will be delighted to help.

Is my new pair at the right size?

Once you receive your new pair, please wear it with you usual socks. Your entire foot should feel snug except for the heel, which should slip a little, which is necessary for getting your shoes on and off.

A degree of heel slippage is normal in a new pair of leather-soled shoes and should reduce after you break in your new pair. Extra room in your toes is by design.

You have the perfect fit when there is enough room across the widest part of your foot and your heel sits comfortably in the shoe.
